After 18 years of offering accommodation in our own home we have decided to have our home back but we can recommend the following.

In the local village of Le Fayet just a few minutes from us the hotel 'la Chaumiere' has a bar, very good restaurant, sauna, Jacuzzi, climbing wall, wifi and very nice rooms. The village of Le Fayet has a number of restaurants, bars, post office with ATM machine and a main line railway that links up to Chamonix and onto Switzerland via a mountain railway.

Towards the end of our road a pleasant elderly French couple run a traditionally styled B&B in a quiet sport and just a few minutes walk from Le Fayet and the local supermarket. Rooms cost 35 Euros a night and breakfast is available upon request. Unfortunately they have no a website or wifi connections. We can book this for you..

CAMPING is popular throughout the region and there are many good campsites.

There is camping up at Plaine Joux our main training/flying site. The views of the Mont Blanc massif are superb and there are a couple of restaurants, toilets and a shower. It's a little remote and not much happens in the evening and there is shopping in the lower valley or the local village of Plateau d'Assy.

Not too far from us in Domancy is an excellent and not expensive campsite close to Lac Passy, a beautiful lake and an ideal swimming spot.  This campsite has everything for the details. http://www.sallanches.com/hebergements/camping-caravaning-haute-savoie-alpes.html

There is convenient shopping opposite our base in Domancy at the Intermarche Supermarket. It's open 08.30 - 19.30 during the week and 08.30 -12.00 on Sunday.

Chamonix town where we find a number of clients like to stay is just 20 kms and a 20 minute drive from our base in Domancy. There's a mountain railway running between Chamonix and Le Fayet, and en-route passes the station of 'Chedde' close to our local paragliding landing site. When we are training/flying at Plaine Joux - Chedde or going off out of the valley we are happy to collect/drop off folk at Le Fayet and/or Chedde. Otherwise if we are flying in Chamonix we'll meet in town.
