During the spring and summer the northern French Alps have the best conditions for XC flying and for 2011 we Verbier - Switzerlandare offering a number of special weeks especially for intermediate pilots.

We provide transport to the drive-to sites, retrieves, detailed safety information, briefings at both launch, landing and landing out areas, information on where the best thermals are, how to tackle them and possible XC routes with all the in-flight safety advice where necessary all for hassle free flying for maximum airtime.

During the week we try and visit a number of excellent flying sites between Chamonix, Annecy, Semnoz and Albertville that have XC routes ranging from simple out and returns, 25+ km triangles, cats-cradles of 50 km and more all with good land out options. Don't forget we are BHPA coaches & instructors and we can help you with your pilot or advanced pilot training at the same time, signing off those elusive tasks as you complete them all at no extra cost!

The cost is just 475 Euros and includes 7 nights accommodation in the lodge*, all tuition, flying guiding/XC flights, retrieves and airport transfers to and from Geneva airport*. The lodge has self-catering facilities and is close to an excellent supermarket and a traditional French town for bars and restaurants.

Return flights to and from Geneva from the UK are normally found for less than 150 Euros return. Food, drinks, cable car costs and insurance are not included.

Pilots should have a minimum qualification of BHPA - CPC or IPPI 3, 20-30 hours airtime or more since qualification, a radio, variometer and GPS.  Please bring your licence, Our licensed and private radio frequency is 161,325. Don't forget your instruction manuals, camera, vario or GPS computer cables so you can view your pictures on our equipment!

In addition you require at least 'third party' flying insurance and a holiday insurance that includes medical, repatriation and cancellation cover. European citizens should bring an EHIC card the 'European Health Insurance Card' that entitles you to reduced-cost and sometimes free medical treatment if it becomes necessary while you're in a European Economic area (EEA) country. *475 Euros is for accommodation in a twin room. The chalet also has a single and an en-suite room; the charges for accommodation in one of these rooms would be slightly higher.
